Bet Shearim

North

Bet Shearim is located

We felt like Indiana Jones when we came to this sight – the old graves awakened our explorer spirit. You can enter many of the burial caves and walk along the small paths inside.
When Rabbi Hanassi was buried in this City in 220 C.E. the place acquired a reputation throughout the Jewish world. Some of the burial caves are: Cave of the coffins with 135 coffins, cave of the Syrian Jews, cave of the cloth merchant, the cave of Rabbi Yehuda Hanassi and many more.
