We were so lucky that it rained right before our visit so the mosaics were even more colorful. During the reign of Herod the Great Zippori was the capital of Galilee and center of Jewish religious and spiritual life. However, it has a long history from Assyrian, Hellenistic, Judean, Babylonian, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic, Crusader, Arabic and Ottoman. Mainly to see in the park are remains from the Roman and Byzantine rule but also the the ancient Zippori Synagoge and a Crusader Fortress.
